How the four Vorion properties fit together — and what is open versus commercial.
The split, in one sentence
The developer gets the engine for free. Enterprises pay for the fleet management.BASIS is the spec. Cognigate is the open runtime that enforces it. AgentAnchor is the commercial dashboard that manages a fleet of Cognigate-governed agents at scale. Aurais is the hosted consumer product for teams that just want trust-verified agents out of the box.
We don't charge for the protocol. We charge for the infrastructure that makes the protocol usable at regulatory scale — compliance mappings, SSO, private CAR registries, audit-ready exports, and the SLAs that let an enterprise sleep at night.
Vorion LLC maintains the draft BASIS standard and is building its conformance test suite. When the suite ships, anyone whose implementation passes may call themselves BASIS-conformant. Vorion does not gatekeep the standard.
AgentAnchor (A3I) audits agents against the standard today — trust records, behavioral history, policy-check outcomes. A certification program is in development: signed certificates bound to a specific agent-definition hash, published to a public, append-only registry, where modification voids the certificate on the modified version. That program is a roadmap commitment, not yet an operating service.
Vorion maintains the standard. A3I audits your agents against it — and is building the certification to prove it.
